The Jerk-Ease shock-absorbing leash attachment review is for anyone who walks an animal and has experienced when it pulls and jumps on the leash, which can be problematic because it can injure both parties. For instance, a feline neck is delicate, and the joints of those walking larger animals, such as dogs. The Jerk-Ease is a shock-absorbing leash attachment designed to address this issue.

When I started leash training Yogi, it was a learning experience for both of us. Although I have had many cats in my lifetime, I have never walked one on a leash before. Yogi walks, runs, jumps, and pounces when he’s out on an adventure. In the beginning, we only used a harness and leash, and Yogi would pull hard and jump at times, lifting his front paws off the ground while his back ones were digging into it. I knew it was not good for him physically, and as his guardian, it was my responsibility to remedy the situation.

I researched leashes with bungees built-in but did not care for what I found. First, many of them were too heavy. Second, the elasticity in most was not ideal for a cat. Third, they lacked style. Lastly, there were no intriguing stories about the products.

Vanessa Goodell created the Jerk-Ease at the age of 12 because her unruly dog, Nemo, injured a family member while jerking on the leash. The product has received “glowing endorsements for their device from veterinarians, physicians, chiropractors, professional dog trainers, and pet store owners.”

Jerk-Ease review:
I ordered a black extra small Jerk-Ease from Amazon a couple of months ago and have been using it every day since it arrived. It attaches between Yogi’s harness and leash, which is a plus because we have various ones.

The first thing I noticed was Yogi did not lift his front paws off the ground while pulling. The Jerk-Ease added elasticity to his lead and allowed him to move around more safely than a leash alone. For instance, when we are running together, and Yogi jumps up and climbs a tree, the Jerk-Ease will slow him down when he runs out of leash instead of stopping abruptly. Although the Jerk-Ease will add weight to the lead, walking is a more enjoyable experience for both of us.

Yogi is just under ten pounds now and stretches our extra small Jerk-Ease a little bit more than I am comfortable with because I would never want to lose him, so we ordered a small and will start using it this week. I can not imagine when I would not use the Jerk-Ease while Yogi is in a harness and leash unless a better product was available. It is an inexpensive way to improve your adventure cat experience while adding a safety level for your cat that is not available with a harness and leash alone. The only negative I see is that it breaks up the pattern between the harness and leash, but black matches everything in our case. We highly recommend this product because it improves your cat’s safety while being in their harness and leash.

We wrote the Jerk-Ease review because it’s a product we stand behind and believe that others in the adventure cat community would benefit from it. If you’re interest in the Jerk-Ease, we appreciate if you would use the product links below. Thank you for your time and please leave your comments.
